Transitional Resources in West Seattle

Saturday was our first volunteer project for the spring round, we returned to TR in West Seattle to help with some outdoor cleaning. Doris met us and gave us a quick run down and introduced herself to two of our new members.

We divided up into three groups: Nick pressure washed an over hang of an outdoor area, Shivani, Summit, Sylvia, Ryan and I cleaned the inside and outside of the greenhouse and Aviva, Marisa and James weeded in the garden.
As we finished the projects, we joined the weeding group. We then moved to the organic garden and pulled weeds from a dirt pile. After the weeds were removed, it shoved the dirt to the hillside. While we shoved dirt, a resident named James came out to help. He was moving very quickly and realized that it was hard work. We really appreciated his help!

After we cleaned up and returned the supplies to the garage, we decided to play basketball. James and another resident decided to join in. The game was short, but everyone had fun. Some members walked down to Luna Cafe for a bite and beer, very nice place. This was a beautiful Saturday in Seattle and a successful project!
